Your CliftonStrengths® for Students report is built for exactly where you are right now; in the middle of one of the most demanding transitions a person goes through. It isn’t a roadmap telling you who to become. It’s a clear description of who you already are, organized to help you trust what you know about yourself and move forward with more clarity.

What This Report Is For

College puts pressure on you to perform in ways that are visible and measurable (grades, internships, involvement, social standing, career direction) and it’s easy to start measuring yourself against everyone around you. This report pulls you back toward what’s actually true about you.

Think of your results as both a mirror and a map. As a mirror, they reflect patterns already operating in your life; things you may have dismissed as “just how I am” without realizing how much they shape how you think, relate, learn, and decide. As a map, they give you a way to move forward without needing complete certainty about where you’re going.

What’s Inside

Your report walks through your top five themes and what they mean for you as a student:

  • Your strengths defined – a plain-language explanation of each of your top five themes.
  • What makes you distinct – how your specific combination of strengths shows up in the way you operate.
  • A deep dive on each theme – what makes that strength powerful for you, what to watch out for, and how it plays out across academics, relationships, leadership, and decisions.
  • Career direction – environments where your natural patterns would be a genuine advantage, offered as starting points rather than predictions.

The Four Domains

Each theme falls into one of four domains, which describe how you naturally contribute:

  • Executing – making things happen.
  • Influencing – taking charge, speaking up, making sure others are heard.
  • Relationship Building – building strong relationships that hold a team together.
  • Strategic Thinking – absorbing and analyzing information for better decisions.

Notice where your top five cluster; it reveals a lot about how you show up.

Reading the Hard Parts Too

One thing that sets this report apart: it doesn’t only tell you what’s great about your strengths. Each theme includes a “What You Need to Watch Out For” section; because every strength, overused or unsupported, has a cost. These aren’t flaws to fix; they’re the natural flip side of what makes you powerful. Reading them honestly helps you set boundaries, manage your energy, and recognize when a strength is working against you instead of for you.

About the Career Direction Section

The career environments in your report are starting points, not a prescription. They describe where your natural patterns are most likely to find traction; where the work itself would benefit from what you already do. Direction emerges through use, and clarity comes from experimentation, not certainty. So treat these as places to explore, not boxes you have to fit into.

Reflect As You Read

As you go through your report, consider:

  • What did you read that surprised you, or named something you’d never put words to?
  • Which “watch out for” patterns do you recognize in yourself right now?
  • Where could you lean into a strength more intentionally this semester?
  • Which career environments make you curious enough to go test them?

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going
