The Strengths Advantage Worksheet is a focused worksheet that aims your strengths at a specific challenge or goal. Use this to discover practical, often new ways to apply your talents to whatever you’re facing right now.

Your VUCA worksheet helps you put your CliftonStrengths® to work when things feel chaotic. VUCA stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity; the four forces that create confusion in difficult, fast-moving situations. This worksheet helps you cut through that confusion and lead with confident agility.

What It’s For

When everything feels uncertain, the instinct can be to freeze or react. The VUCA model gives you a steadier footing: it breaks a chaotic situation down into what you actually know and what you can actually control. From there, you lead with principles rather than rigid procedures; a more flexible, adaptive approach. This worksheet helps you aim your strengths at each of the four elements so you can bring clarity, hope, and trust to those following you.

We might work through it together in a one-on-one conversation, or use it as part of a team exercise.

The Four Elements You’re Working With

  • Volatility – rapid, unpredictable change. How can your strengths help you stay grounded and respond rather than react?
  • Uncertainty – the future is unclear. How can your strengths help you make sound decisions with incomplete information?
  • Complexity – many interconnected parts. How can your strengths help you find the signal in the noise?
  • Ambiguity – meaning itself is unclear. How can your strengths help you interpret the situation and choose a direction?

Getting the Most From It

  • Keep your other reports nearby. Your Personal Insights and Brings & Needs reports are full of ideas for how each strength performs under pressure.
  • Separate the known from the unknown. For each element, get clear on what you know and what you can control; that’s where your strengths gain traction.
  • Lead with principles. In chaos, fixed procedures often break down. Use your strengths to stay flexible and adaptive.

Reflect As You Work

As you move through the worksheet, consider:

  • Which element of VUCA is creating the most confusion in your situation right now?
  • How can each of your strengths bring clarity to what you know and can control?
  • How can you use your strengths to bring hope and trust to the people looking to you?
