While on vacation recently a member of my staff nominated me for residence life staff member of the month through the National Association of Residence Hall Honory Floyd B. Hoelting Nrhh chapter.
The nomination had me in tears as the intention in my work was reflected back to me. To know that my staff “sees” me and appreciates me means the world. To know that my staff feel empowered and inspired to do good work is a supervisor’s dream.
The staff member also included dance analogies in the nomination which makes my heart smile and reinforces for me that being my authentic self has resonated with others.
I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to work with so many dedicated and talented individuals who want to be coached and who I learn from on a daily basis.
I have already won!
