Ruby’s Wonderful Roots | Adult Reflection Prompts

After reading the children’s book, “Rudy’s Wonderful Roots”, the following questions are meant to help the adult look within, connect to your roots, and grow.

  • The Resilience Tree Model™, Roots component represents refueling and self-care activities. What helps you feel steady, strong, and/or grounded when life feels busy or confusing?
  • In the story, Ruby reflects on what brought her joy. What are the activities that bring YOU joy? What do you like about yourself?
  • In the story, Ruby received advice from a hummingbird that reminded her to take care of her roots. Who or what is a hummingbird in your life? What has it reminded you of lately? Is there someone you go to when you want advice?
  • In the story, Ruby compares herself to a Pine tree and a daisy. Who or what have you compared yourself to? Why? What do you wish you could do? Was there a time when you felt that you weren’t enough?
